In case you missed it, last month we launched our first ever comprehensive Corporate Sustainability Initiative, tackling global epidemics such as food scarcity and waste, deforestation, and food safety compliance.
Born in Iceland, made in the EU, and enjoyed by thousands worldwide, we feel our corporate social responsibility cannot be limited to one region, but rather spans globally. From Iceland to the UK to New York, Texas, California, and beyond, our team is making a GOOD GOOD impact wherever they land.
Additionally, as a consumer-packaged goods (CPG) brand, we recognize the immense authority we possess in ensuring every step of the production and distribution process is as efficient as possible.
Did you know as of today, GOOD GOOD® has donated 2,205 lbs. of food in the UK, 9,830 lbs. in the EU, 15,105 lbs. in Canada, and 19,704 lbs. in the US, totaling nearly 50 thousand pounds of food donated. And most recently, we have partnered with WellFare, a New York City non-profit to deliver their products and other nutritious packaged groceries to food-insecure households within the city.
To facilitate our commitment to carbon neutrality, reforestation, and to reach our goal of planting 50,000 trees in 2023, we've partnered with Dollar Donation Club to join their Forest Garden project.
The Forest Garden project, is not only catapulting reforestation efforts, but is also working to help mono-crop farmers transition to bio-diverse agroforestry, as a step towards solving hunger and poverty!
For every bundle purchased on our site, we donate $1 to the Dollar Donation Club. The impact of that dollar?
- 3.4 tress are planted
- 16 lbs of CO2 removed / year
- 15 lbs of organic fruits and veggies are produced / year
- 63.56 sq. ft. of land is restored
Since its implementation in May 2023, GOOD GOOD® has planted 346 trees and we expect to exceed our goal of 50,000 trees planted by 2024.
Lastly, GOOD GOOD® aims to set high benchmarks for ethical conduct in the food packaging industry. As a BRCGS-certified company, we recognize that food standards save lives, and believe it is a basic human right to have access to safe, nutritious, and healthy foods, and do our part to uphold the highest compliance standards.
From mindfully sourcing raw ingredients to meticulously managing our inventory to removing all plastic from our shipping packaging, we hope to continue to contribute to the overall resilience and longevity of the food and drink industry.
Co-founder and CEO, Gardar Stefansson says, “While we know these actions aren’t going to move mountains by themselves, we believe in chain reactions, and recognize how small steps towards a greater goal, can have a multitude of positive benefits.”
While we are taking steps in the right direction, we know there's a way to go, and look forward to the ever-evolving progression of our sustainability efforts. Stay up to date with us on Instagram, @goodgoodbrand to be the first to know about our sustainability progress.
