Initiative Overview
This year we launched our first comprehensive sustainability initiative. One of the pillars of our policy is supporting reforestation efforts. To quote our CEO, “our dream is to build a GOOD GOOD forest in Iceland”, while funding our own tree planting initiative in Iceland is part of our future vision. We’ve joined forces with Dollar Donation Club’s to help them achieve their big goal, to bring 1 million rural farmers out of poverty by 125,000 forest gardens by by planting a trillion trees in Sub-Saharan Africa.
GOOD GOOD’s goal is contributing 40,000 planted trees!
How it works?
For every bundle builder purchase on our website, we donate $1 to the forest garden project. The forest garden project is an initiative that focuses on unique solution called the Forest Garden solution in Sub-Saharan Africa where 422 million people still live in poverty. Amongst planting trees, the Forest Garden solution to date has planted 190 million trees, revitalized 21,000 football fields of land, raised $59 million dollars, and has pulled 100,000 farmers from hunger and poverty. While $1 might not sound like a lot, this will grow exponentially with our sales over time making a positive contribution to the project.
The impact of $1 dollar:
- Contributes 4 trees planted
- 16 lbs. CO2 removed/yr
- 15 lbs. organic produce
- 63.56 sq. ft. land restored.
Measuring Impact
Dollar Donation Club is a reputable organization that relies on industry experts to provide an integrated impact score on the project. As a partner we receive comprehensive updates quarterly from training and planting as well as stories from the people who are impacted directly from our donation.
